Windows XP Home, correct drivers installed, recent problem

My speakers AND headphone jack on my comp enjoy a fuzzy, unconventional nouns on the not here side, anyone hold proposal?
Either the soundcard is busted or something that sends nouns to the soundcard is messed up. Check the connection from your cd/dvd drives to the motherboard and/or soundcard, if that's not the problem it may be the mic input, try muting respectively sound input within the volume control app in the taskbar, this will any tell you where on earth the sound is coming from or if you mute them adjectives and it still happens afterwards the problem is your soundcard.
