My USB mouse flickers and will not work. What could the problem be?

Hi I hold a USB mouse that all of a sudden will not work within any USB port. The scroll button on top of the mouse have a light inside and flickers at a speedy rate. In device manager, if i plug the mouse surrounded by, the device manager chronicle constantly tries to refresh itself as if its trying to install the USB mouse over and over but fail. Where should I start troubleshooting this? I have a PS/2 mouse working correctly surrounded by the meantime. 1 of the 6 USB ports gets the mouse to install itself within device manager but the mouse does not move and loses nouns there as very well.

PS I have tried a few USB mice immediately, with indistinguishable result on this computer.....

sounds like you might enjoy a problem with the usb bus itself.

try downloading and reinstalling the drivers for your motherboard.

if it is an expansion usb card, find and reinstall the drivers for it.
try pluging it into a different usb port, sometimes the ports acquire bad.
my first guess would be check the battery. second, your usb card may have gone impossible. that would cause adjectives of the usb ports to not work. to troubleshoot that, try connecting something else by usb to see if anything would work in the usb ports.
u enjoy to replace ur usb port. buy new one and try again, but since replacing try other ports of usb also may be only one port is destabilized
Likely, you need to forget using a USB mouse. You ports and/or system can't touch them. Continue using the PS/2.
