does the PC surrounded by which you are trying to plug your Pen Drive has a working drive? You might of fried the drive when you pulled out some other entity out of your PC while the PC was writing facts on it!Did you installed the drivers for the Pen drive before plugging it surrounded by?Are you sure your Pen Drive is working properly?

Your PC will automatically detect a new hardware!Try reinstalling the drivers for the Pen or try plugging your Pen up to that time you start your PC!
Find out the comapny that makes it progress to the website, download the drivers and it should work.

If not your USB port may be bad.
From device checker un install USB driver & restart your system & than install the driver of USB from your mother board driver. Restart again now your computer will detect your pen drive if it have not burnt. In assembled PCs front USB port is created by electrics from mother board. If polarity is reversed than any Pendrive or USB HDD attached to it will burn off.
look on this connection it will help
