it is hooked up i can see it working on my desk top but read out it is not plug in

Well....You can see yourself on your cam on your desktop?? Then it is working. If you are trying to broadcast over the network you may not have the "plug in" downloaded to broadcast or you may not enjoy your device selected to broadcast. I would hold to know a little more.
